Ciucci to compete for award to study Parkinson disease

Michelle Ciucci, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery-Division of Otolaryngology and the Department of Communicative Disorders, was selected to compete for an Ellison Medical Foundation New Scholar Award.

The award supports new investigators of outstanding promise who study age-related diseases and disabilities. Each award is $100,000 per year for up to four years.

Ciucci hopes to improve vocalization and swallowing in patients with Parkinson disease and other neurologic disorders.
