Caitlin Silberman, a Ph.D. student in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Art History, is one of five students to receive a 2015 Committee on Institutional Cooperation/Smithsonian Institution Fellowship.

The fellowships provide opportunities for graduate students to conduct research in association with members of the Smithsonian professional research staff, and to utilize the resources of the institution.

These one-year fellowships are offered through the Smithsonian's Office of Fellowships and Internships in partnership with the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) in order to support research in residence at Smithsonian Institution facilities. The CIC is affiliated with 15 universities — the 14 members of the Big Ten Conference, plus the University of Chicago.

Fellowships carry a stipend of $32,700. All fields of study that are actively pursued by the museums and research organizations of the Smithsonian Institution are eligible.
