12 L&S graduate students win TA awards

Graduate students from the College of Letters & Science have won 12 of the 14 2015 University of Wisconsin-Madison campus-wide teaching assistant awards.

The L&S winners are:

Innovation in Teaching Award
Alainya Kavaloski, English
Carl Sack, Geography
Andrew Winters, Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences

Capstone Ph.D. Teaching Award
Hayley Clatterbuck, Philosophy
Brian Harvey, Botany
Gabriella Monahova, Economics
Balázs Strenner, Mathematics

UW-Madison employs more than 2,000 teaching assistants across a wide variety of disciplines. The contributions of TAs in the classroom, lab, studio and field are essential to the university's education mission. In order to recognize excellence on the part of TAs across campus, each year the Graduate School, with funding support from the College of Letters & Science, administers awards for exceptional teaching by graduate students.
