Thibeault named 2011 Mentor of the Year

Dr. Susan Thibeault

Dr. Susan Thibeault, a lecturer in the Department of Communicative Disorders and an Associate Professor at UW-Madison, has been named Mentor of the Year by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Thibeault will receive the award at the 2011 Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology State Conference which will be held in Stevens Point, Wisconsin Feb. 24-26.

She received her M.A. from SUNY – Center at Buffalo in 1992 and her PhD. from UW-Madison in 2001.

She has held an Award for Continuing Education from the ASHA since 2007; received the ASHA Award for Early Career Contributions in Research in 2005; and received an ASHA Graduate Student Scholarship in 2000.

Thibeault is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Voice and Swallow Clinics in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UW-Madison. Her research interests focus on furthering knowledge of vocal fold biology based upon molecular and genetic methodologies.
